Course Description
This workshop combines a software training with the conveyance of important key principles of graphic design (typography, balance, proportion, colour, information hierarchy, composition, alignment, layout grids etc.) as well as fundamental aspects for an effective and target-oriented visual communication (Target group, main messages, intended impact etc.).
The practice-oriented approach enables you to become quickly familiar with the handling of the professional layout software Adobe InDesign CC and the creation of communication tools to visualise your preferential content. We will take a closer look at the conception and layout techniques to create various flyer-formats, promotional posters and scientific publications.

Notes for workshop participants: Please equip your computer with a free-trial version of Adobe InDesign CC.
Moreover, you are invited to bring along own text and image material or recently designed media. Examples of design tasks you are specifically interested in, are required to be send per email and as pdf-file one week in advance to ral.komptenzschule@uni-leipzig.de

If you are particularly interested in academic poster design, please choose the workshop format Concept and Design of Scientific Posters.
