"Research Assessment facing Open Science Paradigms: Addressing the Key Role of Early Career Researchers“
Big Science has favoured a research assessment model on quantitative indicators that have met the need to rationalise the exercise but have also contributed to the commodification of scientific knowledge and its standardisation. Instead, Open Science proposes an approach based on considering a wider range of research activities, which is more inclusive of society and more protective of scientific integrity.
The talk will address the transitional period we are going through, where two approaches of research assessment are confronting each other with opposing values. In this confrontation, the role of Early Career Researchers is crucial because they are the ones who are supporting the reform, already playing by the rules of openness and taking the risks of change.
The evening programme for the Doctorates' Day on 29 November 2022 starts at 5 pm on the ground floor of Villa Tillmanns. All those interested are cordially invited!
From 4:30 p.m., our on-site childcare is also available at Villa Tillmanns. Please register for this with Juliane Rein, stating the age of the child or children.
