The Doctoral Representatives for the Research Academy Leipzig (RA-Doc) represent the doctoral researchers in our structured doctoral programmes. The PhD Candidates’ Council (ProRat) is the official university committee that represents the interests of all doctoral researchers at Leipzig University. The International Doctoral Initiative provides a network for all international doctoral researchers.
Doctoral Representatives for the Research Academy Leipzig
Each class at the Research Academy Leipzig has at least one representative. This representative serves as a liaison between the doctoral researchers and the academic coordinators and spokespersons. A small number of these representatives are then elected to serve as Doctoral Representatives for the Research Academy Leipzig (RA-Doc). The spokesperson for the Doctoral Representatives for the Research Academy Leipzig has a seat on the Board of Directors.
Our main task is to promote networking between the classes in order to identify common interests the doctoral researchers have that go beyond their subject area and to be able to represent doctoral researchers at the university level.Leipzig Doctoral Representatives

The aim is to promote exchange between international doctoral researchers, strengthen social networks, support academic development, and provide opportunity for doctoral researchers to have fun and make new friends.
The Initiative regularly organises cultural, social and academic events for international doctoral researchers at our university and is there to help out in any way they can.
