Number of Participants
In this course participants are introduced to the fundamentals of academic writing in the humanities in English. Combining theory and practical exercises, participants will learn a variety of skills. These include: mastering the basics of good structure and flow, as well as using outlines and ‘signpost’ words; formulating a strong thesis statement; understanding the role of introductions and conclusions; employing specific academic vocabulary; writing without language bias; and appreciating the differences between informal and formal English. On the third day, participants will have the opportunity to give and receive feedback on their work.
1,5 Credit Point can be obtained by attending this course. Please contact your faculty for the recognition of performance for the doctoral degree.
