We offer our members free on-site childcare during workshops so that it is easier for them to balance family life and doctoral research. In addition, we work with childcare providers who offer regular childcare.

Flexible Childcare Services

In cooperation with Family Services at the University, we offer our members free on-site childcare during workshops. When you register, simply let us know if you need childcare, along with the age of the child or children. Later requests must be made at least two weeks prior to the workshop via email.

To offer childcare, we work together with the childcare referral agency Mittagskind. All childminders have childcare training and hold an emergency card (Nothilfepass) and a certificate of conduct (polizeiliches Führungszeugnis).

Regular Childcare

In cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office at the University, we also offer our members regular childcare for children up to three years of age. If you are interested, please complete the Registration Form and send it to Family Services.

We work with four childminders who have a total of 20 childcare places available for Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. The childcare facilities are located on Straße des 18. Oktober, Tarostraße and Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße.

The childminders are subject to the regulations outlined by the Jugendamt (Department of children and family services) and are regularly evaluated by the Jugendamt and other responsible bodies. The costs are based on the rates set by the city of Leipzig.
