Doctoral degree completed– now what do I do? Is a career in academia for me – yes or no? What about entering the private sector? What do directors of factions, associations, or other institutions actually do? What else can I do with a doctoral degree? For those with a doctoral degree, there are in fact multiple career options. The Coffee Conversation Series gives junior scientists the opportunity to talk with invited “insiders” in a relaxed setting about that guest’s chosen career path.
The lively exchange at these gatherings focuses on goals for and experiences of life after the doctoral degree. Participants can find out what careers are possible after academic training and for which professions having the doctorate is useful. All questions about the guest’s career path are welcome. The Research Academy Leipzig provides coffee and cake for those in attendance.
