In order to create the best possible conditions for the promotion of young scientists, the Research Academy provides support for all doctoral researchers and postdocs at the University of Leipzig. Special attention, however, is given to members of the Research Academy.
Doctoral researchers in structured doctoral programmes may take advantage of the Research Academy’s services. These services include financial support for active conference participation, the possibility of inviting international scientists to contribute to doctoral education, subsidies for self-organised events, and even day-care for toddlers over one year of age.
All doctoral researchers and postdocs at Leipzig University may take part in the workshops and coaching provided by the Kompetenzschule; their offerings are specifically designed to meet the needs of young scientists.
Postdocs receive assistance from the Research Academy Leipzig in the form of financial allowances for conference participation and for networking or research trips; they also can take advantage of individual consulting.
Research Academy Leipzig supports university professors and instructors in activities that promote the development of junior scientists, for example in establishing structured doctoral programmes or supervising doctoral researchers.
Through the Leibniz Programme, the Research Academy promotes international, intergenerational and multidisciplinary exchange between renowned researchers and young scientists at Leipzig University.
The Research Academy team acts as a contact point for doctoral researchers, postdocs, university instructors and those interested in pursuing a doctorate. It provides information on all matters related to the advancement of young scientists and serves as an information broker, connecting its members with other consulting services available at Leipzig University.
